Compressed tea cake of sheng pu'er (raw pu'erh) from the trending Xi Gui area in the east of Lincang Province. Young tea leaves that grew wild on ancient tea trees (gushu 古樹) over 300 years old a.k.a the oldest trees in our tea collection. Handmade boutique tea that is picked and processed by hand without any machine involved, and an initial compression by stone.
"Song Xiang" 松香 (from Mandarin) = "pine wood aroma", is a delicate and still slightly raw tea containing a wide range of flavors which can be fine tuned by a conscious and accurate infusion. A medium body drink in thick texture and light color. Its mild astringency and bitter tastes will be balanced in its early years of age, into a richer and fuller drink.
Xi Gui village in Lin Xiang district is a prestigious trending area among the locals, but less known outside China. "Under the radar" tea cake of unique profile and quality, which its value will rise miraculously in few years. A stock of only 11 kg exclusive to ho yum tea, which we've been developing since the early stage of harvest, through controlled aging in the factory for 18 months, until we compressed of the leaves into medium-sized 200 gram cakes, half made by hand.
Recommended for drinking in the first part of the day, from spring to autumn. Rich in theine (caffeine), this type of tea supports the function of the spleen and stomach when consumed in the morning. In order to reach the full potential of the tea it is recommended to store the cake in suitable aging conditions (see storage instructions).
This product has been tested by us in a private Eurofins laboratory in Taiwan with strict International standards, in order to rule out any suspicion of toxicity or harmful substances. The results came out 100% organic, clean from any traces of pesticides.
