New limited edition of buckwheat tea. A more roasted version of our beloved Yellow Buckwheat, roasted at a higher temperature. A clearer beverage with an aromatic profile reminiscent of slightly roasted flavors of cocoa or coffee. Those who have already fallen in love with our yellow buckwheat tea - will not remain indifferent to the new black buckwheat tea.

Buckwheat tea has already become a hit and is now common all over the Asia and considered a superfood with nutritional values and health benefits. Buckwheat tea caffeine-free, therefor suitable for drinking around the clock, including the eveningtime or before bed. Its taste is incredibly rich and sweet and it has a fuller and heavier body than most leaf teas.

Although it is the same buckwheat intended for cooking, it is not the same raw material. Our buckwheat grows in the De Liang Mountains in southern Sichuan, mountains that rise to an altitude of over 2000 meters and a unique climate of 14-17°C all year round. The growing environment is totally natural and no pesticides, nor fertilizers, has been used (beyond organic).

The raw buckwheat seeds are harvested once a year during the summer by members of the minority group known as Yi Zu (彝族), and designated to be infused as herbal tea. Thanks to technology and only natural processing procedures, the seeds reaches a level of finish designed for hot or cold infusion, and manages to maintain a rich and balanced range of flavors, while maintaining the health benefits of the plant.

Unlike Whole Grain Buckwheat, the Black Buckwheat is a natural extract of the buckwheat seed's peel that contains a high concentration of nutritional values. This product was tested Pesticide-Free (uncertified organic) on our behalf in Eurofins lab in Taiwan.

Suitable for drinking all year round, at any time of day, as a hot or cold brew. Recommended to serve alongside desserts or after meals. It is possible and even recommended to infuse black buckwheat tea with natural flowers such as Snow Chrysanthemum or Yellow Chrysanthemum, for flavor enhancement.
