Thai Black Tea (Red Tea) with Chinese and Taiwanese roots, made with a wulong cultivar - all in one package. Harvested in winter 2021 in Doi Mae Salong area of Northern Thailand, a picking standard of two leaves and a bud that have undergone relatively long withering and about 80% oxidation. Tea with a fruity profile and sweet honey finish, medium body, and notes of wild berries.
The tropical winter at an altitude of 1,200 meters is considered a superior harvest season in Northern Thailand, resembling the late spring weather in Taiwan. The leaves are from the Ruan Ji 軟技 "Soft Stem" variety, grown under sustainable natural conditions without pesticides (uncertified organic tea). This is a sub-variety of the Taiwanese Qingxin Oolong, which is originally from Anxi County in Fujian China, where it is known as Ai Jiao 矮腳 "Short Legs".
Another treasure from Northern Thailand, thanks to our close collaboration with creative Taiwanese-origin growers in Doi Mae Salong. This time, we delved into several aging hybrid batches that had not yet been released, and chose to age one of them in our warehouse in vacuum under dry storage conditions. The result is a delicate aged black tea, accessible and affordable for everyone, which has retained its honey aroma while gaining more body and depth. One of our more successful tea varieties from Thailand, which participated in the seventh edition of the Blind Tasting Club at the beginning of 2024.
A balanced tea with a warm tendency, suitable for drinking all year round, at any time of the day.
