Qi Lan 奇蘭, "unique floral aroma" in free translation from Mandarin, is a dark wulong tea (oolong tea). The tea grows on the original mineral-rich decayed stone soil of Foguoyan in the Wuyi mountains.
As its name implies, Qi Lan is a tea hard to define, characterized by traditional baking at medium fire, thick texture and long fruity aftertaste. Traditional single bush harvesting and medium-high oxidation.
Qi Lan is one of the oldest tea cultivars replanted and renewed in the 1990s in Pinghe County 平和縣, now considered one of the most fascinating varieties in the genre. Since 2019 we have been chasing different spring editions of Qi Lan and proudly adding this cultivar for the 2nd consecutive year into our yan cha collection.
A daily warming tea with a fruity creamy finish. Recommended for drinking in cold seasons, from Autumn to Spring.
Package contains separately packed portions in a dedicated aluminum bag to maintain the freshness and wholeness of the leaves.
Spring 2022 edition has gone through rebranding, we will soon be updating pictures of the new look, as well as updated tasting notes.
