גווי חואה שיאנג טיה גואן יין (סתיו 2022) - תה אולונג פרימיום | ho yum tea

Gui Hua Xiang (in Chinese: 桂花香, “Osmantus Flower Aroma”) is an unconventional type of Tie Guan Yin (Iron Goddess of Mercy 铁观音), reserved for luxurious versions of single-bush and high altitude picks, including festive editions and internal tea competitions in Anxi county.

A fresh, light wulong tea which has gone through light oxidation for two hours only and was kept in freezing conditions in a double-vacuum seal to maintain its fresh and rich profile for long. Young bushes at the age of approx. 10 years, which only grow to 40-50 cm of height, in an altitude of 800-1000 meters - the ultimate altitude for Tie Guan Yin, which is usually reserved for the highest grades. Everything you wished for in a fresh unbaked Tie Guan Yin is in here - clear, bright infusions with some Umami taste, thick texture and a rich long aftertaste of fresh green grapes.

Autumn 2022 pluck of Tie Guan Yin is the best we have experienced ever since we started exploring it in 2016. Colleagues in China even told us that there hasn’t been anything like it for a decade, and all this goodness is happening towards the celebration of 300 years to this iconic tea from Anxi county, located at the heart of Fujian province.

The highest grade of qing xiang tie guan yin we have ever brought, in a limited edition in honor of the celebrations of 300 years for Tie Guan Yin. Probably the best light wulong we had a chance to drink recently in this price range, or, to put it as Nadi did when he first tasted it: “I haven’t tasted such a Tie Guan Yin for years, I want to brush my teeth with it”.
